Sphinx Great Pyramids of Gizeh
During the 4th dynasty, pyramid building was at it's peak. These structures were created by hundreds of thousands of men, many of whom died in the effort. The largest of the three is named "Cheops"and stands 55 stories high and covers 13 acres of desert. It's 2 million blocks weigh an average of 40 tons apiece. Originally, each pyramid was faced with a layer of polished limestone to reflect the sun. The glare from these massive monuments was able to be seen by all from miles around.
