8th Grade- The projects and the skills needed
in this class are all built upon the concepts covered in the 7th grade
experience. The students are challenged to use the skills that they have been
taught and explore the creative options available while being given additional
information in related topics to continue their developmental process.

| Color | In this unit, the students are taught the how pigments are
used to create different values of color. Through this study, the students are
educated in the vast amounts of hues needed in the fine art of

| Sculpture | This unit continues the students skill development in the
area of sculpture. Special attention is given to the "details" that
are shown in the projects given. Manipulation and creativity are the objectives
in creating skill at this level. Emphasis is placed on the students
understanding of light and shadow and how it relates to their sculptures.

| Drawing | This unit begins the process of artistic rendering by
introducing the students to "Contour line". Building upon the
understanding of 3D space from their 7th grade perspective unit, the students
explore gestures and contours in a formal setting.(Report: M.C.Escher)

| Printing | Again building upon the 7th grade experience, the students
are given a second experience. This time the students are instructed to analize
color groups from life and break down an example to simple colors and do a

| Illustration | The students at this level are given the opportunity to use
their skills of drawing and lettering to create an artwork with the emphasis on
