| Semester 1-4 | The students that are enrolled in the Studio Art
offering are "usually" the most experienced and motivated
students in the school. The focus of the class is both to provide
opportunity for skill development and to expose the students to options
in the field of art that were not made available to them in previous art
classes that are part of our current course of study. Once projects are
selected it is the intent of the instructor along with the art student
to explore the limits of the idea to create a meaningful and challenging
experience out of each project. All projects will be considered, if
they meet quality standards, and if additional materials are needed they
will be obtained by the district within reason. The students are allowed
to work at their own rate and are suggested to work additionally at
home. Periodic classroom critiques make the students aware of the
creativity around them and gives them a sense of where they stand amoung
their peers.

| Studio Art-Senior Show | This additional project serves as a final grade and is one of the nicest activities within the art department. It allows the students who have worked so hard as students here at Sayre to show off their work to the school one last time. The shows are designed entirely by the students and they are guided to be as creative as possible. The shows are to have their own theme or environment and have name tags to match so that their show is original to the artist themselves. A minimum of 10 works by the students are needed to complete this requirement. All projects must be finished ( framed, mounted or matted) for display. |
