Byzantine Art
Summary
The art developed by the followers of Christianity was more symbolic than the art of the Romans. Most of the art and sculpture represented people and events of religious importance.
In the Byzantine era after, Constantine's death, Justinian's reign over the new Byzantine empire produced a large number of church buildings in The areas of Ravenna and Constantinople. The mosaics and artworks they contained earned this period the title of "The Golden age of Byzantine art."
