Byzantine Art David Composing the Psalms
This artwork is a good example of an icon that was developed from the murals of the period and used as a miniature in books. This example shows David (a biblical figure), with the icons Melody,Echo, and Jordan (Greek/Hellenistic) in one combined piece. This combination of beliefs shown thought the artwork of the period greatly influenced the art of the Romanesque and Gothic which developed later.
